BACK PAIN & SCIATICA

Back pain is a common condition that affects people of all ages and can have a variety of causes. It is typically characterized by discomfort or pain in the area between the neck and hips, and can range from mild to severe.

Some common causes of back pain include:

  1. Strains and sprains: These are the most common causes of back pain and occur when the muscles, ligaments, or tendons in the back are stretched or torn.

  2. Herniated discs: This occurs when the soft, gel-like canter of a spinal disc bulges out and presses on a nerve.

  3. Spinal stenosis: This is a narrowing of the spinal canal, which can cause pressure on the nerves that run through it.

  4. Arthritis: Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis can cause inflammation and pain in the back.

  5. Osteoporosis: This is a condition in which the bones become weak and brittle, making them more prone to fractures.

  6. Scoliosis: This is a curvature of the spine that can cause back pain, particularly in the lower back.

Treatment for back pain depends on the cause and severity of the condition. In many cases, back pain can be managed with using different treatment methods such as manual therapy techniques (spinal manipulation), soft tissue treatment, electrotherapy treatment, posture correction, strengthening and stretching, followed by some home management treatment techniques.
